Bethel Dead: Josephine Power was born in Dodgeville, Iowa, WI, March 7, 1871, came to Nebraska in 1880, and in 1888 was married to F. M. (Frank Morgan) Bethel. to this Union, three sons were born. Died at her home near New Helena, Dec. 26, 1908, aged 37y9m19d. About 14 years ago she was converted and united with M. E. Church and has since lived a faithful Christian life. For months, Mrs. Bethel has been a great sufferer and has sought medical aid at the hands of many physicians, but only temporary relief could be offered up to Christmas day she was in her usual health but was taken suddenly ill and in a few hours all was over and the captured soul took its flight to him who gave it. Although weak of body and delicate of health, Mrs. Bethel has endeared herself to all who knew her as an angel of mercy and help in the house of sickness and suffering among her neighbors. Her life of suffering and sacrifice for others is most apreciated by those who knew her best. She leaves a husband, three sons, two sisters, two brothers and a host of friends to mourn her loss.
