Wilson. Mrs. Josephine Wilson, wife of Capt. Aaron H. Wilson, died Tuesday morning at her home near the post office, after less than one week's illness of paralysis. Mrs. Wilson appeared to be in her usual health until late Wednesday evening of last week. She had started down town to see the final drill of the Harrisonburg Guards before the Company left home for Richmond, and while standing at her front gate was taken ill. She returned to the house-without assistance, but walked with considerable difficulty. She then became helpless and Dr. J . H. Neff was hastily called. He at once pronounced it a case of paralysis. Mrs. Wilson retained consciousness and was entirely rational until Sunday afternoon, when the disease took a serious term for the worse and resulted in her death Tuesday morning, as stated. Deceased was a daughter of the late John Allebaugh. She was 65 years of age and was the youngest of a family of ten daughters. She was born and reared at the old Allebaugh homestead, near Dayton, and early in 1870 was married to Capt. Wilson. Since that time she had resided on the Valley Pike, about one mile north of Harrisonburg until a few years ago when they moved to town. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Lutheran church and took an active interest in the welfare of the Harrisonburg congregation. She was notably fond of children and it was among the little ones that much of her activity in church affairs was most effective, and in this department of benevolent and religious effort her presence will be sadly missed. Her husband survives her, without children, together with three sisters— Mrs. Daniel Byerly, Mrs. Peter S. Roller, and Mrs. Jacob Cowan. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at the Lutheran church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Geo. E. Shuey. The interment was in Woodbine Cemetery. Messrs. T. L. Williamson, John W. Taliaferro, Andrew Feuchtenberger, Lewis P. Ott, Walker Ritter, and E, Purcell, Jr., acted as pall-bearers.
