Description	:	Josephine Alvira Stahly, daughter of Sarah & James Harbin, was born Oct. 12, 1892 at Barnard, Kan., and passed away on Nov. 5, 1973 at the age of 81 years & 23 days. She grew to womanhood in the Barnard Community. At an early age she was baptized and became a member of the Baptist Church and in later years became a member of the Stratton Community United Methodist Church, which she attended faithfully until her health failed three years ago. Read More	Josephine Alvira Stahly, daughter of Sarah & James Harbin, was born Oct. 12, 1892 at Barnard, Kan., and passed away on Nov. 5, 1973 at the age of 81 years & 23 days. She grew to womanhood in the Barnard Community. At an early age she was baptized and became a member of the Baptist Church and in later years became a member of the Stratton Community United Methodist Church, which she attended faithfully until her health failed three years ago. She was united in marriage to Albert Stahly in March of 1909 at Barnard, Kan., where they were engaged in various businesses. To this union three children were born: George Merril, Reginald Earl, & Mildred Aileen. The family moved to a farm 10 miles north of Stratton in March of 1933. Following her husband’s death on June 5, 1941 Josephine moved to Stratton in 1942. She spent the last 3 yrs. in the Hester Home in Benkelman, Nebr., In addition to her church membership at Stratton she was also a member of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service of the Community United Methodist Church in which she was active while her health allowed. She remained patient & cheerful during her long illness. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert, four brothers and two sisters. She leaves to mourn: two sons, George, Imperial, Reginal, Stratton; her daughter, Mildred Helfer, Crete, NE, eight grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Stella Clark, Atwood, Kan., Vaughn Harbin, Portland, Ore., and other relatives and friends.
