About six days later her hand became infected, blood poisoning set in, and her condition became serious. Mrs. Josephine (Cook) Myers was born December 9, 1859, at Kickapoo, Leavenworth county, Kansas. She was reared in Kickapoo and at the age of twenty-five years was united in marriage in Leavenworth to Don Myers. For many years Mr. and Mrs. Myers have lived on a farm near Waldron and are among the best known residents in that section of Missouri. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church at Waldron and has a host of friends not only in Platte County, Mo. but in Leavenworth and Kickapoo, who will be grieved to learn of her death. The surviving relatives are, besides the husband, seven sons; John, Frank C., Robert, Levi, Dan, Ralph and Jesse, four daughters, Mrs. Gussie Martin, Josephine, Ature, and Margaret Myers, all of Platte County, two brothers and four sisters, J. F. Cook, of this city. Robert Cook of Boling, Mrs. W. W. Woodson, Sr., Mrs. P. H. Bauer of this city and Mrs. Robert Baker of Abilene, Mrs. Joseph Rasdal of Kickapoo. The body will arrive here at 5:40 o'clock this morning over the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy railroad from Waldron and will be transferred by the J. C. Davis Undertaking Company to the Missouri Pacific station, from which the body will be shipped at 9:50 o'clock to Kickapoo.
