Description	:	Funeral services for Josephine Kuzelka age 89 of Beemer, NE will be on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer with burial in the Beemer Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday from 9 a.m. till service time at the church. There will be a public Vigil Service on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in Beemer is in charge of arrangements. Josephine passed away on Friday, March 25, 2011 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE. Josephine Elizabeth Kuzelka was born November 16, 1921 at rural Beemer, NE to Ferdinand and Elizabeth (Dinslage) Litz. She attended Cuming Co. Rural School and graduated from Beemer High School. On June 20, 1944, she was united in marriage to James Kuzelka in San Raphael, CA. The couple returned to Beemer and later moved to West Point, where the operated the meat department at Vogltance Grocery. In the early 1950's the couple moved to Pierce, NE and operated K&K Meat Market. After moving to Norfolk, Josephine worked at Woolworth's and Hested's Variety stores and a short time at the Nebraska State Hospital. After her husband's death, she moved to Beemer and was employed as the activities director at Colonial Haven Nursing Home until her retirement. She continued to live in Beemer until entering the Wisner Care Center Assited Living in December of 2010. Josephine was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Beemer American Legion Auxiliary Post #159. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, doing crafts, cooking and baking. Survivors include- Sons-Myron and wife Karen Kuzelka of Wisner, NE James, Jr. and wife Paula Kuzelka of Commercial Point, OH 3 Granddaughters- Joan and Matt Oatman Pam and Steve Leisy Mollie Kuzelka 1 Grandson-in-law- Bill Gier 6 Great Grandchildren- Quinn Springer, Keaton Springer, Andrew Gier, Holly Gier, Brian Leisy and Eric Leisy 3 Great Great Grandchildren-Dylan and Jordan Springer, Jackson Gier Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one granddaughter-Deb Gier.
