Alfred H. Bartter will officiate, and burial will be in the Phelps cemetery. Mrs. Cutting died Thursday evening following several year's illness. She was the former Josephine Stortz, born Oct. 9, 1872, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Stortz. She taught in grade schools in this county for a number of years. On June 1, 1901 she married attorney, Elmer W. Cutting, who died July 11, 1923. She was active in the Rebekah lodge and was a past president of the Rebekah assembly of Iowa. She was also financial secretary of the local Congregational church, and was a member of the executive board of the Winneshiek county chapter of the American Red Cross. She is survived by two sons, Carroll of Decorah and John, who is in officer's training school in Camp Lee, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Victor Lawrence of Milwaukee; three brothers, James L., Clem, and Ben F., all of Decorah; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Dixon of Minneapolis and Mrs. Jennie Richardson of Waterloo; her mother, Mrs. Emily Stortz of Decorah who is 94 years old.
