Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at St. Mary's Catholic Church here. Rev. Leroy Seuntjens officiated. Burial was in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Oyens, under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home. Mrs. Majeres, the former Josephine Schiltz, was born May 20, 1886, at rural Remsen, the daughter of Peter and Margaret (Delperdang) Schiltz. She was reared and educated in the Remsen area. Her marriage to Charles Majeres took place Sept. 22, 1909, at Remsen. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Oyens area. Mr. Majeres died Sept. 10, 1944, and Mrs. Majeres moved from the farm to LeMars in 1948. She resided there until moving to Remsen in 1953. She had lived at Happy Siesta retirement home since July 15, 1980. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Third Order of St. Francis and Christian Mothers, all of Remsen. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Rosalind) Luken of LeMars; four sons, Clarence of Wilmont, Minn., Leonard of Remsen, Melvin of LeMars, and Cecil of Tracey, Minn.; 26 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Martin (Elizabeth) Arens and Mrs. Martin (Cecilia) Wanderscheid, both of LeMars, and Mrs. Franklin (Marie) Eichen of Cherokee. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John, Anthony, and William; and five sisters, Mrs. Louis (Anna) Meyer, Mrs. Henry (Margaret) Feller, Mrs. Nick (Katherine) Konz, Mrs. Fred (Susan) Arens, and Mrs (Alvina) Feller. Pallbearers were Harold Luken and Charles, Donald, Maynard, Dennis, and Richard Majeres.
