She passed away on Feb. 23, 1993 at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 5 days. Daughter of David Andrew Fetters and Lula Edith Chappell OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, March 11, 1993 BRAWDY Josephine Katharyn Brawdy, daughter of David and Lula (Chappell) Fetters, was born Oct. 18, 1911, in Lemons, Mo. She passed away on Feb. 23, 1993 at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 5 days. Josephine was united in marriage to Waldo Brawdy on March 27, 1929, in Unionville, Mo., and to this union three children were born. She was baptized into Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife and mother, raising her children in the "nurture and admonition of the Lord." Her children "rise up and call her blessed." Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Waldo Brawdy; her sister, Velma Bennett; and her brother, Ernest Fetters. She leaves to mourn her passing her three children, Mary Jo and husband Norman Riekens, of Corydon; Bernard Brawdy and wife Savannah, of Des Moines; and Jeanette and husband Albert Schreck of Russell; 13 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Other survivors include four brothers, Eldon Fetters and Keith Fetters of Chariton, Everett Fetters of Knoxville and Dwight Fetters of Seymour; two sisters, Vera Head of Promise City and Carol (Gardner) Perry of Waverly, Kan.; a number of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 26, at the Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton. Evangelist Tom Woody officiated. Tammi Faulkner, granddaughter, sang "I Need Jesus," David Fetters, nephew, led congregational singing of "Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Burial was in the Confidence Cemetery. Serving as bearers were Don Clark, John Grove, Bruce Schreck, Bernard Brawdy, Jr., Victor Brawdy and Brian Schreck. Honorary bearers included Andy Dennis, David Fetters, Simon Dennis and Carl Bennett.
