Showers was born October 16, 1848, in the State of Wisconsin and passed to the home beyond January 14, 1927, from her late home eight miles northeast of Prescott. She moved from Wisconsin to Illinois where she was united in marriage in 1864 to Daniel C. Crow, who preceded her in death August 1910. Showers was born October 16, 1848, in the State of Wisconsin and passed to the home beyond January 14, 1927, from her late home eight miles northeast of Prescott. She moved from Wisconsin to Illinois where she was united in marriage in 1864 to Daniel C. Crow, who preceded her in death August 1910. To this union were born eight children, five sons and three daughters, two daughters preceding her in death. She leaves to mourn her departure, one daughter, Viola Rhine of Fort Scott, Kansas, and five sons, Daniel E., Vincent, Pearl and Clarence all of Prescott, and Charles who went to Alaska during the Gold Rush and has not been heard from since; two brothers, Gustavious and Charles Showers of Creston; also eleven grand children, fifteen great grandchildren. She united with the United Brethern Church when young, and always retained the old time faith in Christ. Her faith in Christ, a clean life, and service to her children and friends was her creed of living. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Prescott, Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. Clarence Moore of Shannon City, assisted by Rev. C. B. Guest and Rev. Leslie Ross of Prescott. A quartette consisting of Mrs. Moon, Mrs. Imes, Mr. Perkins, and Mr. Pottinger, with Mrs. Mary Brandt at the piano furnished the music. The burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery, Prescott, Iowa.
