Josephine Marie “Jo” Grantski, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017, at her home in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska at the age of 91 years 2 months and 24 days. She was born August 4, 1926 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Eldon Harvey and Mable Adeline (Miller) Lowell, the 3rd of six children. Jo was united in marriage to Donald L. Grantski on August 31, 1946 in Marysville, Kansas and to this union three sons were born, Leonard, David and Gary. Together they started their life in Lincoln and later moved to Beaver Crossing in 1961 where she and Donald owned Grantski Grain. Jo worked as their bookkeeper and dispatcher. In her early years, she was employed at Goodyear in Lincoln and also ironed shirts at a laundry in Lincoln. Jo was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Altar Society in Beaver Crossing. Her family was the love of her life. She was deeply involved with cub and boy scouts where she served as a Den mother as well as Den Leader Coach. In her spare time, Jo enjoyed putting puzzles together, nature watching, various crafts and taking care of her “puppy” Corky. She collected sea shells from family and friends and enjoyed making picture and mirror frames for her family. Jo loved her flowers and being outdoors. Jo is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard “Bud” and Linda Grantski, Beaver Crossing, David Grantski, Newport, Washington, Gary and Bonnie Grantski, Beaver Crossing, grandchildren and spouses, Todd and Melissa Grantski, Utica, Jacque and Andrew Hansen, Stillwell, Kansas, Christina Grantski, Belgium, Ted Grantski, Newport, WA, Suzanne Timmerman, Columbus, Travis and Danielle Grantski, Utica, Marissa Grantski and fiancé, Patrick Pfile, Beaver Crossing, several great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, brothers and sisters, Ben Lowell, Gunnison, CO, Dorothy Bennett, Bentonville, AR, Betty Staley, Paonia, CO, Barbara Brown, Gunnison, CO, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Duane and Barbara Grantski, Lincoln, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald in 1998, brother, Harvey Lowell, three brothers-in-law, Leonard, Lee and Howard Grantski, sister-in-law, Maxine Chase.
