Description	:	Funeral Services for Mrs. J. Porter HOPKINTON. March 15, 1932 Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Porter were held Thursday at the Methodist church. Her death occurred March 8 following many years of poor health. She and her husband were early pioneers of the Buck Creek community. She and her husband were early pioneers of the Buck Creek community. She was loved by her family and friends with whom she came in contact. Burial was made in the family lot beside her husband at Buck Creek. Josephine M. Sloane was born Aug. 11, 1849, at Browne Wis. Her father died when she was a child and her mother married Mr. Wright. She accompanied her mother to Fairbanks, where they settled before Mrs. Porter taught school. She was married to Thomas Porter Feb. 21, 1871, and they started housekeeping on their farm near Buck Creek. Six children were born to this union Leslie, Manchester; Mrs. Luella Clow, Whiteston, Ind.: Myron, Hopkinton, Harry, Manchester; Mrs. Bessie Dunlap, Hopkinton; and Mrs. Ava Main, Monticello. Surviving, also are 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Laura Jaquue, Spokane, Wash., and three brothers, Albert, Fayette, Ida,; Forest, Kunn Ida,: and Hillary Wright, Post Falls, Ida. Mrs. Porter resided here since 1901 and had been a lifelong member of the Methodist church. Her many friends will mourn her passing.
