June, the month of roses, has always been considered cupid's own play time, and when we look back over the matrimonial records of the month that is just closing we realize that June 1927 is no exception to the rule, but has her full quota of unions. One of the prettiest weddings of the season was solemnized on the morning of June 29th at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Feary in Bridgeport, when their daughter, Miss Josephine, became the bride of J. Bryan Shepherd, of Bayard. Promptly at eight o'clock Miss Eunice Brown began playing the wedding march and the happy couple entered the room atended (sic) by Kathryn Garrison, sister of the groom and his lifelong friend, Earl Ishmael. Rev. J. E. Filinger, pastor of the Presbyterian church (sic) of Bridgeport, in a pleasing manner spoke the words that united this estimable pair in the holy bonds of matrimony. The bride and maid of honor were both attired in beautiful pink and white gowns and were certainly a beautiful pair. The bride carried a beautiful bouquet of creamy white roses, a gift of the groom. The bride has lived with her parents in Bridgeport for a number of years during which time she, in her winning manner, has won a host of friends, whose best wishes will follow her through ife (sic). She is a very accomplished young lady and a musician of wonderful ability. The groom, the oldest son of Mrs. Viola B. Shepherd, is one of the substantial young business men of Bayard, being one of the firm of the Auto Electric company and is known far and near as one of the best mechanics of the valley. This fine couple are starting out in life with bright prospects for a future and we are sure they have the best wishes of their hosts of friends in both towns. The Feary home wore a festive air in its beautiful pink and white decorations. The beautiful ring ceremony over and congratulations and best wishes offered, the guests retired to the dining room where an appetizing breakfast was daintily served by Mrs. McWilliams and daughter, Mrs. Mitchell. The happy couple received many beautiful and valuable gifts, tokens of the higs (sic) esteem in which they are held by their hosts of friends. Those present were Reverend J. E. Filinger, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Feary, parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Andy B. Richesson, of Harvard, brother and wife of Mrs. Feary, Mrs. Viola B. Shepherd, mother of the groom, Ruth Browne of St. Louis and Kathryn Garrison of Bayard, sisters of the groom, Harvey Shepherd of Milwaukee, and Duke Shepherd of Indianapolis, brothers og (sic) the groom, Bettty (sic) Ruth and Warren Garrison of Bayard niece and nephew of the groom, Eunice Brown of Bridgeport and Earl Ishmael of Bayard. Breakfast over, the newly-weds took their departure by auto for Estes Park, where they will spend their honeymoon among the statey (sic) pines, the beautiful lakes and waterfalls, and the gorgeous wid (sic) flowers.
