Description	:	Josephine's parents are unknown. She was adopted from an orphanage in Davenport, Iowa. For the 10 years prior to her marriage, she resided with a Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Struck. Josephine's middle initial was given as "J." on Russell's draft card; her middle name was given as "May" in her obituary. Josephine Marshall and Russell Ervin Sword, both residents of Eldora in Hardin County, Iowa, were married Monday evening January 16, 1939, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Palmer, southwest of Eldora, with the Rev. Dewey Lamprecht officiating. Russell and Josephine rented a farm southwest of Eldora after March 1, 1939, before moving to a farm in the Liscomb area in 1945. From 1977 on, they lived in Union, Iowa. Josephine Sword Cook passed away October 31, 2005, at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. She is survived by her son Jerry (Jeanette) Sword of Union, three grandchildren, one great-grandson, and 4 step-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Russell Ervin Sword; her son, Melvin Sword; and her second husband, Levi H. Cook. Visitation was Thursday, November 3, at the Johnson Funeral Home, 2-8 p.m., with her family present from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 4, at the Liscomb Church of Christ, with Rev.
