Her family moved to Kansas in 1910. Read More	Josephine Bolts, age 100, died at the Lane County Long Term Care Unit in Dighton, KS on Wedesday. February 16, 2005. Mrs. Boltz was born in Ray County, Missouri on February 28, 1904. Her family moved to Kansas in 1910. Josephine graduated from the Lane County High School in 1923, she taught for one year at a county school before her marriage to Arle Boltz on June 8, 1924 in Dighton. Josephine was a homemaker. She was dedicated to her family and her community and her church and various organizations. She enjoyed knitting and in her later years became very interested in genealogy. Josephine was preceded death by her parents, husband Arle 8 Auguat 1992, 1 daughter, Eleanor Popp, 1 brother, Virgil Miles, 1 sister, Sarah Virginia Bradley, and 1 grandson, Stephen Schmoker. Suvivors include 2 daughters, Arlene Heather, Springfield, VA.; and Shirley Greer, Colorado Springs, CO., 1 sister, Emily Myers, Dighton; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2005 at the United Methodist Church in Dighton, KS. with Rev. David Randall officiating. "The Lords Prayer" was sung by soloist Darnel Wick. "Abide With Me," "Because He Lives," and "There's A Wildness in God's Mercy" were sung by Darnell Wick and Robert Paris. Organist was Delores Paris. CAsket Bearers were Jay Walker, Robert Paris, Lynn Hubin, Max Moomaw, Bill Bryant and Mark von Leonrod. Burial was in the Dighton Memorial Cemetery, Dighton, Kansas. Memorials were suggested to the United Methodist Church or the Lane County Historical Museum in care of Boomhower Funeral Home, Dighton. From Dighton Herald Kansas February 23, 2005 page 2.
