She had been in failing health for some time but was around as usual until one month ago. She was Josephine G. Renfrew, born in Wapello county November 30, 1860, the daughter of John and Mary Graves Renfrew. She was married February 22, 1880, to John Myers who died May 12, 1926. They established their home in Nebraska, where they lived for one year. The came back to Iowa where they lived on farms south and west of Ottumwa for 13 years before they moved to a farm three miles northeast of Drakesville. They moved from the farm to Eddyville where her husband was in the produce business and was postmaster for several years before he died. Mrs. Myers continued her residence in Eddyville until 1944, when she sold her home and moved to Ottumwa. Since December 19, 1946, she had lived in Centerville with her daughter, Mrs. C.B. Irelan. She was long an active member of the Christian church, continuing her membership from the Eddyville church. She was the last member of a family of nine children. She was the mother of six children, two of whom are living: Mrs. Irelan of Centerville and Bert Myers of Drakesville. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Edith Adcock, and three sons, Elmer, Glenn and Laris Oliver Myers. The body is at the Wagler funeral home in Bloomfield. The service will be held at the Davis Street Christian church in Ottumwa at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, in charge of the Rev. Bruce B. Matthews, pastor of the Drake Avenue Christian church here, and the Rev. La Verne Morris, pastor of the Ottumwa church. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery in Ottumwa.
