Josephine was born Nov. 27, 1893, to Joseph Henry and Mathilda (Meier) King in Schaller. She graduated from Grinnell College in 1915 with a major in history and a minor in English. Josephine was born Nov. 27, 1893, to Joseph Henry and Mathilda (Meier) King in Schaller. She graduated from Grinnell College in 1915 with a major in history and a minor in English. She taught high school for seven years and served as principal of the Alta school. She married Otis Hudson in 1922. He dies in 1985. After her marriage, she often substituted in Schaller schools. She helped start the Schaller Public Library. She was a past member of the Schaller School Board and Schaller Public Library Board. She was also a member of Schaller Presbyterian Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; three brothers Clarence, Henry, and Loyal; and two sisters Margaret and Eleanor. Survivors include three sons, Bob Hudson, West Des Moines; Bruce Hudson, Ames; and Roger Hudson, Des Moines; nine grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Taken from the Pilot Tribune 8 Sep 1990.
