Description	:	Josephine Swanson was born in Brooklyn, Iowa, March 23, 1878. She grew to womanhood in this vicinity, receiving her education in the Brooklyn schools. For many years she was the homemaker of the family. For the past several years the Public Library has received much of her time and attention. She has always been willing to help in cases of need and was known for her kindness and for her disposition, which, outwardly at least, was cheery. Read More	Josephine Swanson was born in Brooklyn, Iowa, March 23, 1878. She grew to womanhood in this vicinity, receiving her education in the Brooklyn schools. For many years she was the homemaker of the family. For the past several years the Public Library has received much of her time and attention. She has always been willing to help in cases of need and was known for her kindness and for her disposition, which, outwardly at least, was cheery. She was found dead by her brother, Frank, in her rooms over the Quality Shoe Store at about six o'clock Tuesday morning. Josephine was baptized and confirmed in the Swedish Lutheran Church. For several years she had been a sufferer from heart trouble. The deceased is survived by three brothers, Albert and Frank of Brooklyn, Shirley of Park City, Utah, and a niece, little Frances Swanson. Funeral services were held from the home of her brother, Frank Swanson, Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, the Rev. E. W. F. Holler and Rev. W. J. Flower conducting. Interment was in the family lot at the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Pallbearers were Wm. Johnston, Miller McCulloch, Dr. E. J. Schmitz, Wm. Wasson, A. B. Johnston and C. S. Cummings. Relatives present from a distance for the funeral were Mrs. O. A. Repass and Charles Easton of Waterloo, and Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Hoffman of Des Moines. Source: Poweshiek Obituaries
