Mrs. Collier was born Feb. 1, 1846 and was aged 79 years and 6 months. She was united in marriage Dec. 26, 1865, to George N. Collier, who preceded her to the grave. Read More	Mrs. Josephine Vernon Collier Mrs. Josephine Vernon Collier, who was born in Greene county, departed this life Aug. 31, 1925, in Atlantic, Iowa, where she made her home with her son. Mrs. Collier was born Feb. 1, 1846 and was aged 79 years and 6 months. She was united in marriage Dec. 26, 1865, to George N. Collier, who preceded her to the grave. To this union was born six children, three daughters and three sons, Mrs. Leah Morris, of Pirkey; Mrs. Viola Henry, of Winchester; Mrs. Annie Shifflett, of Carpenter, Wyoming; Messrs. W. J. Collier, of Silver Spring, Md.; J. T. Collier, of Shannon City, Iowa and G. N. Collier of Atlantic, Iowa. She leaves two brothers, Messrs. Durrett Vernon of Pirkey, and Ambrose Vernon, of Dyke. She also leaves 32 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends here in Virginia and also in Iowa, where she had made her home with her two sons for the last seven years. She was a member of the United Brethren church, is [obscured] christian and a devoted mother. Mrs. Collier's body was brought back to Greene county, and tenderly laid to rest beside her husband in Woodson cemetery September [obscured] in the presence of a large [obscured] of family and friends.
