There is nothing that has ever been said complimentary of any young couple just launching on the sea of matrimony that could not be said truthfully and deservedly of Jimmy Walsh and his fair bride. James E. Walsh was born and raised in Auburn, is the eldest of four brothers, and son of one of our oldest and most highly respected families. As a boy he was steady and reliable; as a man he is quick, active, intelligent, and trustworthy. He has held various responsible positions with credit to himself and is today Undersheriff of Placer County. Miss Ryan has resided in Auburn for some years and her graceful manners and refined nature has won for her the highest esteem of all who have been favored with her acquaintance. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Skehan, reside at Birchville in Nevada County and are highly respected people. The party who accompanied the groom from Auburn to attend the wedding consisted of Edward Walsh, his uncle; J. T. Walsh, his brother; Mrs. Julia McCormick, his sister; Mr. William McGuire; and the Misses Mamie and Kate Skehan; sisters of the bride. After the ceremony at the Catholic Church, a wedding feast was enjoyed, and in the evening a ball was given in their honor. Miss Kate Skehan acted as bridesmaid and Mr. J. T. Walsh as best man. The happy couple passed through Auburn yesterday morning on their way to San Francisco where they will spend their honeymoon. Returning to Auburn, they will make their home for the present with the groom's parents.
