For about thirty-five years Mr. Jordan has been well and extensively known in this county, as one of the most upright and reliable of men. He had been a very prominent member of the Baptist Church here from its organization, and was constantly mindful of its welfare, and heartily engaged in all its efforts. He will be missed in his family, in the church, and in the community---but he has left a name fragrant with happy memories.---His praise is on every lip. 'Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.'"
