Description	:	The first settlers of Honey Creek Township Joshua Rinker of German ancestry and wife Louisa (Reece) of Scotch ancestry-both Virginians, who in 1834 located in what was then the newly organized County of White and Union Township. For the first two years of his residence, Joshua Rinker farmed on shares, and in 1936 he took up a track of land (130 acres) still in its original wildness in Big Creek and Honey Creek townships.
