| Description | : | Josiah Rominger was the second of nine known children of Christian Ludwig (went by Lewis) Rominger (1806-1885) and Elizabeth Hyre (Hire) Rominger (1807-1896), who married 05 May 1827 at Davidson County, North Carolina. In 1829 the parents and first child, Wesley, moved to the Moravian Commmunity of Hope, Bartholomew County, Indiana. In 1845 the family moved to Davis County, Iowa, just recently ceded by American Indians to the Government. Josiah married Mary Ann Humphreys (1832-1894) on 08 Feb 1853 at Davis County, Iowa.
