Description	:	Joy B. Neil, 87, of 910 W. Second St., died at 7:30 a.m. July 5, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Society – Ottumwa. She was born July 28, 1927, in Fremont, Iowa, to John T. and Bessie Grove Baker. She married Floyd “Johnny” Mason. They later divorced. She married John H. Neil June 22, 1971. He preceded her in death February 17, 2012. A graduate of Ottumwa High School, she earned a degree in accounting. They later divorced. She married John H. Neil June 22, 1971. He preceded her in death February 17, 2012. A graduate of Ottumwa High School, she earned a degree in accounting. She had worked as an accountant in Des Moines and San Diego before she and John moved back to Ottumwa in 1978. She worked as the Wapello County Deputy Treasurer, from where she retired. She lived in Des Moines again for a short while before returning to Ottumwa. After retirement, she continued to work in accounting, most recently for D P Plumbing Plus. Surviving are a son, Roger Mason of West Des Moines; a stepdaughter, Karen Neil of Des Moines; a stepson, Stephen Neil of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Lorie Baker of Ottumwa, Jon Mason of Ottumwa, Scott Mason of Kansas City, Missouri, Mike Mason of Des Moines and Christina Mason of Osceola; nine great-grandchildren, Austin, Leah, Tyler, Tina, Heather, Hunter, Ashton, Celena, and Dawson; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Josephine Foster. She was preceded in death by a son, Ron Mason; and a sister, LaVon Swincoe.
