Description	:	Joyce Adela (Stalder) Dorn, 75, of Minden died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services were held Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth with the Rev. Sylvia High Karlsson officiated. Burial was at Minden Cemetery before services. She was born on July 4, 1933, in Stamford to Edward and Emma (Lubeck) Stalder. On Sept. 8, 1957, she married Delbert Dorn in Stamford. He died in 1996. Survivors include her son, Daniel and his wife, Deb of Minden; daughter, Diane Miller and her husband, Jeff, of Minden; grandchildren, Andrew and Emilee Dorn and Jarred and MaShayla Miller, all of Minden; sisters, Dorothy Stalder of Minden and Margaret Vincent and her husband, Dale, of Stamford; many relatives; and many, many friends. She was baptized July 30, 1933, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stamford, where she was also confirmed on July 1, 1945. She started school in 1938 and graduated from high school in 1951 from the Stamford school systems. She attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont for three semesters and then transferred to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating in June 1955 with a bachelor of science degree in vocational homemaking education. Following graduation, she taught for one year in Alma and one year in Haines, Alaska. Her husband worked as a farmer and livestock feeder. He retired in 1994. The family was members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hildreth. In 1997, three ELCA Lutheran churches in the Hildreth area consolidated under the new name of Trinity Lutheran. She was an active member and served as church organist for more than 50 years. She went back to work in 1993 as a church secretary. She worked almost six years at First Lutheran Church in Kearney and worked from 1998 to 2005 as secretary at the United Methodist Church of Minden. Visiting most of the 50 states, Canada and Mexico, she and her husband took great pride in their travels. In summer 2003, she visited Luther Land in Germany, which was a wonderful opportunity for her. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and infant grandson, Thomas Jeffery Miller.
