On March 8, 1980 she married James Commisso who preceded her in death on July 25, 2011. Joyce is survived by her son, Doug (Angela) Commisso of Defiance, OH, daughters, Kristina (Trevor) Waldron, Julie (Roy) Plummer,and Beth Lewis, all of Defiance, OH, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, and a sister Linda Frederick, of Defiance. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Commisso, a son, Bill Schnitkey, and a sister, Ruth Shoemaker. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2016, 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am with Rev. Clarence Dinnen officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens.
