Description	:	Joyce Ann Loeffler, 76, of La Crescent, Minn., passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Golden LivingCenter, after a long illness. Joyce was born on September 6, 1937, in Caledonia, Minn., the oldest of five children, to Ambrose and Waivel (O'Heron) Klug. She was raised on a farm outside Caledonia until a fire destroyed their home during her high school years. Read More	Joyce Ann Loeffler, 76, of La Crescent, Minn., passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Golden LivingCenter, after a long illness. Joyce was born on September 6, 1937, in Caledonia, Minn., the oldest of five children, to Ambrose and Waivel (O'Heron) Klug. She was raised on a farm outside Caledonia until a fire destroyed their home during her high school years. Her family moved to the city of Caledonia, where she graduated from Loretto High School in 1955. Joyce was employed first as a nanny and then a telephone operator. On November 30, 1957, she married Donald William Loeffler They lived in New Albin, Iowa, and La Crosse, Wis., before eventually settling in La Crescent. Joyce was employed in retail service until her retirement. Over the years, Joyce's interests included square dancing, flower gardening, taking trips with her husband and family, reading, cross stitch embroidery, and watching the Weather Channel. She volunteered with the West Avenue Food Emergency Resource (WAFER) Program, Meals on Wheels, and at St. John's United Church of Christ, where she was a member. Her most pleasure came from her family, especially her eight grandchildren. She also enjoyed the friendly, caring visits from the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice staff and playing bingo with her friends at the Golden LivingCenter. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Thomas) Schindler of Holmen, Wis.; her sons, Don (Diana) of Big Lake, Minn., Jay (Rita) of Holmen, Mark (Mary) of La Crescent, and Dean (Janet) of Holmen; her grandchildren, Jason, Ross, Alycia, Sierra, Anna, Ryan, Carly, and Lauren; her sisters, Judy (Bill) Dehen of Kennewick, Wash., and Kathy Dehen of Caledonia; her brothers, Tony (Helen) Klug of Brown Deer, Wis., and Joe Klug of Caledonia; her sister-in-law, Vivian Beneke of Eitzen, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her her parents, Ambrose and Waivel and her husband, Donald. A private family funeral will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ in La Crosse. Pastor John Parkyn will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's Memorial Cemetery, New Albin. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice Program or St. John's United Church of Christ.
