Ninth St., Rochester, passed away at 12:38 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester. Her health had been failing for the past two years. Born in Rochester to Harold and Laura Sheets Lowe, she married Jack L. Smiley on Sept. 26, 1956, in Rochester. He survives at home. Joyce was a 1956 graduate of Rochester High School and lived her entire life in the Rochester community. She was a staff accountant for 25 years for Byron Shore. C.P.A. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Rochester, and of the Women of the Moose. She was an avid reader and loved watching birds. Survivors include husband Jack L. Smiley, at home; and two sons, Marc Smiley and wife Nicole, Rochester, and Jon Smiley and friend Beth Arata, Kewanna. Her funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Junior Bose officiating. Burial is at IOOF Cemetery, Rochester.
