She was the daughter of Leo Francis Fairchild and was born July 22, 1944, in Leon, Iowa. Joyce grew up in the Decatur County, Iowa area and in Cedar Falls, Iowa before the family moved to California. Read More	Joyce Elaine Mostrom, age 70, of Van Wert Iowa, passed away on Monday December 15, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs Arkansas after health issue complications. She was the daughter of Leo Francis Fairchild and was born July 22, 1944, in Leon, Iowa. Joyce grew up in the Decatur County, Iowa area and in Cedar Falls, Iowa before the family moved to California. As an adult, she lived in Osceola, Iowa and was working at Furnas Electric when she met, Lyle Mostrom. They married on May 8, 1992 in Leon, Iowa. They moved to Minnesota where Joyce worked at Peerless Plastics. In 1997, they moved to Van Wert, Iowa where Joyce took care of their rental properties. They moved into their new house in 1999. Due to health issues, Joyce started kidney dialysis until she was blessed with a transplant. They were currently traveling and spending time in Hot Springs, Arkansas. In her spare time Joyce loved to go camping, seek out garage sales, and spend time with her family and dogs. In earlier years, she embroidered and sewed. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, sister Ruth Hammit, and grandson Daniel Bethards. She is survived by her husband, Lyle Mostrom, her children, Melvin Stokes Jr. of Des Moines, Iowa, Cleo Williamson of Newton, Iowa, Marlene Krukow of Des Moines, Iowa, David and Nicole Barnette of Faribault, Minnesota, Mary Jane Barnette of Des Moines, Iowa, and Shelly and TJ Fry of New Virginia, Iowa, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Thelma Wilson of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Larry Fairchild of Osceola, Iowa, and Randy Fairchild and Tammy of Tama, Iowa. She leaves a host of other relatives and friends.
