Read More	Joyce Lee Norris Posted: Wednesday, Oct 08, 2008 - 01:31:19 pm MDT Joyce Lee Norris, 61, died on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Hospital in Libby. She was born in Kalispell on Feb. 26, 1947 to Claude and Ruby (Hansberry) Norris. She spent her childhood on the family ranch in Warland, Mont. Ms. Norris was proud to call the Libby Care Center her home for more than 26 years. She had close ties with her caregivers and fellow residents. The chapel at the care center was one of her favorite projects. She wore a badge on her shoulder that read "The Center's Chaplin." Her other home was the Libby Christian Church where she will be remembered as a special member. She was as active as she could be in the church's missions. She was born with the birth defect cerebral palsy. She was committed to doing her part fighting birth defects in children. In the 1980s, she made more than 100 trips up and down the halls of her home in the care center. The effort took her over four hours but she raised $150 for the March of Dimes. She also enjoyed writing stories and poetry and was a member of "The Society of Poetry." Survivors include her sister Ellen Bloomgren and husband Blaine, Missoula; brother-in-law Robert Domitrovich, Spokane, Wash.; three nieces and two nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Services will be Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 at noon at the Libby Christian Church with the burial at City of Libby Cemetery preceding the service at 11 a.m. Viewing was scheduled for Tuesday from 5-8 p.m., and Wednesday from 8:30-10 a.m., at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Memorials may be made to the Libby Care Center Chapel Fund or to the Libby Christian Church.
