She was born August 8, 1952 in Ridgeway, OH the daughter of the late Woodrow and Naoma (Moe) Ansley. On November 22, 1971 she married Vernard Pete Brown and he survives. Joyce is survived by her daughters Amy (Chad) Gillfillan of Forest, OH and Staci (Mike) Freeworth of Bowling Green, OH; grandchildren Cody and Taylor Gillfillan and Keegan and Kendall Freeworth; brother Lowell (Diane) Ansley of Lima, OH; and sister Phyllis (Joe) Bricker of Kenton. She was a Ridgemont high school class of 1970 graduate. Joyce worked over 30 years at the Hardin County courthouse beginning as the Clerk of Courts and retiring as the Deputy Auditor. She was a member of Kenton First United Methodist Church where she volunteered many years overseeing and handling the weekly church offering. Joyce was heavily involved in her children and grandchildrens lives. You would regularly find her at soccer games, softball games, basketball games, choir/band concerts, and Top 20/Dimensions shows. She was an avid reader of all genres, but especially mysteries. Her husband of 46 years was her partner in crime for her day to day activities. Together they could make the most menial tasks fun, from shopping trips to fishing trips, Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family. Funeral services for Joyce L. Brown will be held Thursday April 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the SCHINDEWOLF STOUT CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Kenton with Reverend Jonathan Hanover officiating. Burial will follow the service in Hale Cemetery, Mt. Victory, OH. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday April 5, 2017 from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Joyce may be made to the Kenton First United Methodist Church. Condolences may be left for the family by visiting stoutcrates.com.
