Mrs. Sjaarda was a lifelong member of the First Reformed Church, and a member of the Lydia Circle. She was a 4-H leader for more than 20 years. Survivors are her husband, John; three sons, John Martin of Sioux Center, James of Ireton, IA, and Judson of Sioux City, I A; a daughter, Joan (Mrs. Mark) Wieman of Algona, IA; a sister, Lois (Mrs. Gordon) Van Roekel of Sioux Center; and ten grandchildren.
