Read More	Forman, ND: Joyce Bjork passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Parkside Lutheran Home in Lisbon, ND at the age of 94. A private family graveside will be held. Joyce Maxine Hegle was born June 22, 1926 in Gwinner, ND to Clarence and Frances (Mason) Hegle. She attended all her schooling in Gwinner and graduated from Gwinner High School. After graduation, Joyce worked at Bohlken’s Furniture and Appliance Store in Lisbon, ND during the war. She began a delightful courtship with Norman Bjork that later turned into a marriage on November 6, 1946 in Gwinner. They moved to the family farm where Norman farmed with his father and Joyce began her lifelong work as Norman’s right-hand helper. While living on the farm was hard work, they often found time to enjoy dancing, golfing, bowling and always looked forward to the yearly visits from the west coast relatives with their newest hot rods and the trip to the Minnesota State Fair. Joyce and Norman joined an Airstream Club that would travel from Canada to Texas that led to many lifelong friendships. After Norman retired, they began wintering in Texas. Joyce enjoyed golfing, gardening, bird watching, listening to country music and loved being on her iPad and staying in touch with family and friends on Facebook. The most important thing to Joyce was being a mom and grandma. She was truly the matriarch of the family. She made sure to support all activities and never forgot a birthday. She was even able to take some very special trips to Norway, Sweden and Ireland with some of her grandchildren that will forever be treasured. Joyce was a lifelong member of Gustav Adolf Lutheran Church and was part of the Ladies Aid. She was a member of the Legion and Shrine auxiliaries. After Norman’s passing in August of 2002, Joyce joined the local Widowers and Widows Group and always looked forward to the monthly gatherings. Even as Joyce’s body began to slow down, she always kept her youthful spirit and joyful attitude towards life. Joyce is survived by her children: Randall Bjork of Charleston, SC, Nancy Bjork (Mark Larson) of Minot, ND, Brian (Val) Bjork of Forman, ND, and Jan Bjork of Bloomington, MN; grandchildren: Alex, Jenny, Johanna (Kurt), Peter, Shelby (Luke), Annika, Anders, Maren (Kevin), Niklaus, Becky (Mike), and Heidi: and great-grandchildren: Penelope, Owen, Alexander, Theodore, Janne, Heidi, Brody, Leo, Sydney, Jake, Chloe, Teagan, Emerson, and Jared. Preceding her in death were her husband, Norman; her parents, and her sister, Clarice Erickson.
