Description	:	Mrs. Joyce Robinson Sanders, 88, formerly of Bennettsville, SC died on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Cheraw Healthcare in Cheraw, SC. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Thomas Memorial Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Charles Owens. Burial will follow at McCall Cemetery in Bennettsville. She... Read More	Mrs. Joyce Robinson Sanders, 88, formerly of Bennettsville, SC died on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Cheraw Healthcare in Cheraw, SC. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Thomas Memorial Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Charles Owens. Burial will follow at McCall Cemetery in Bennettsville. A visitation will be held just prior to the service in the Church Parlor from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Mrs. Sanders was born in Rocky Mount, NC, on April 19, 1927, the daughter of the late D.R. and Mildred Armstrong Robinson. She grew up and graduated and graduated from Hamlet High School and later attended college in Virginia studying interior design. She was married to the late B.B. Sanders, III, of Bennettsville, SC for fifty-five years. During her life, she was an active member of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, where she served on various committees. She was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and served in various roles in the class. Two other groups that she was involved in at Thomas Memorial were the WMU and the Keenagers. One outstanding accomplished that she achieved during her life, was being the South Carolina Garden Club President for two years. Other roles she held at the State Level, were State Chaplain and Vice-President. While she was in this position, she traveled to many states attending different states' conventions. She was President of the Garden Gate Garden Club in Bennettsville. She dearly loved the Garden Club and enjoyed earning different awards for the Club. Mrs. Sanders was a Master Flower Show Judge and served on several state and national Garden Club boards. She enjoyed playing bridge each month with her friends in her three bridge clubs. During her earlier years, she served as a Den Mother for her son's Cub Scout Troop 627. Mrs. Sanders' was preceded in death by her husband "B" and her parents, listed above. She is survived by her loving son, Braxton B. Sanders, IV and wife, Martha of Bennettsville; two grandsons who affectionately called her "Granny Joyce", Jonathan B. Sanders and wife, Amy of Kingstree, SC, and Matthew C. Sanders of Bennettsville, SC whom she dearly loved. She was also survived by two beautiful great-granddaughters, Jordan Elizabeth Sanders and Harper Christine Sanders of Kingstree. Joyce had one brother, Dale R. Robinson of Irmo, SC, and several special nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, 308 West Main Street, Bennettsville, SC 29512; or to the Marlboro Gideon Camp, PO Box 356, Bennettsville, SC 29512. Burroughs & Cooper Funeral Home is assisting the Sanders family.
