She was born on June 11, 1928, in Kieler, Wis., daughter of Ferdinand and Margaret (Brandt) Schmeider. She married Leonard Beauchamp on Sept. 29, 1948, in Kieler; he died in 1979. She later married Glenn Potter on June 26, 1982, in Anamosa; he died on May 29, 1995. She was a devoted wife and mother, daughter, sister and friend. Throughout her years as a wife and mother she worked extremely hard in a variety of roles both in and out of the home to ensure a wonderful life for her family. She took great pride in her flower gardens, sewing, woodworking and quilting. In later years, she loved to travel with her motor home and was an active member of the Loners on Wheels camping organization. She was a member and volunteer at St. Peter's Catholic, Temple Hill, rural Cascade, as well as volunteering in her community. Those she touched during her life will miss her dearly. Surviving are three daughters, Carmen (Steve) Streets, of Wyoming, Brenda (Dennis) Koppes, of Monmouth, and Sheila (Robert) Thola, of Otter Creek; a son, Mark (Dahlia) Beauchamp, of Havert, Germany; a stepson, Jim Potter, of Wyoming; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Leora (Bob) Shaw, of Minnesota; and two brothers, Laverne (Serena) Schmeider, of Wisconsin, and Fred Schmeider, of Illinois. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Marsha; and a sister.
