Description	:	Mrs. Peter Olson, who was formerly Jørund Hoyme, passed away last Saturday evening at the home of her son, Charles at Highlandville. The deceased was born in Valdres, Norway Aug 9, 1840. At the age of thirteen years she immigrated with her parents, Gjermund and Sigrid Hoyme, to this country. She was united in marriage to Peter Olson June 1st, 1856. To this union were born six children, Frederick, Henry, Mrs. Sarah Bentley, Julia, Simon and Charles. Read More	Mrs. Peter Olson, who was formerly Jørund Hoyme, passed away last Saturday evening at the home of her son, Charles at Highlandville. The deceased was born in Valdres, Norway Aug 9, 1840. At the age of thirteen years she immigrated with her parents, Gjermund and Sigrid Hoyme, to this country. She was united in marriage to Peter Olson June 1st, 1856. To this union were born six children, Frederick, Henry, Mrs. Sarah Bentley, Julia, Simon and Charles. Of these Frederick, Julia and Simon have gone before. Since the year 1866 Mr. and Mrs. resided in Highlandville, where the former many years operated a grist mill. Her husband died Sept 10th, 1899, and since that time she has made her home with her son Charles. Besides her three children, who all live in Highlandville and vicinity, Mrs. Olson is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Knut Nelson of Decorah and Mrs. Mary Bronson of Neenah, Wis, and a brother, Knut Gjermundson of Eau Claire, Wis. The past ten years or more she has been ailing, although often suffering greatly she has whenever possible been active and until a few days preceding her death was busy with handwork. Mrs. Olson has always been kind and helpful, a friend in need and in deed. She was a good Christian woman and as long as her health permitted was active in church work. As a tribute to h3r work a floral piece was placed on her coffin by the Ladies Aid Society, ow which for many years she was a member. The funeral services were held at Big Canoe church, Wednesday afternoon, Rev. K. Seebuus officiating. The high esteem in which she was held was manifested by the large number of people who escorted her to her las resting place. Among those at a distance who attended the funeral were Mr and Mrs. Halvor Simenson, Mrs. P. Simenson and son, Alfred; Albert Larson and wife, Mrs. Albert Larson Sr., and Mrs. Frank Thomas all of Waukon and vicinity. From Decorah the following were present, Mr. and Mrs. K Nelson, Tom Qualley and K. A. Vick. Our heartfelt sympathies were extended to the bereaved survivors.
