She was born on Sunday, May 28, 1916, at Dean's Station in Anderson County, and was the daughter of the late James Frederick Dean and Leila Catherine (Reid) Dean. Juanita was a 1937 graduate of Anderson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse at Anderson Memorial Hospital as well as a Private Duty Nurse for many years.
