Born January 26, 1917, in Klamath Falls, OR, to Rufus Ayers and Tempie (Kiser) Perkins, moved to Swofford Valley when she was at age two, and lived there until moving to Centralia to attend Centralia Business College. Born January 26, 1917, in Klamath Falls, OR, to Rufus Ayers and Tempie (Kiser) Perkins, moved to Swofford Valley when she was at age two, and lived there until moving to Centralia to attend Centralia Business College. She was baptized at the Richland Valley Church of the Brethren in Ajlune, which was always "her church" even after moving to Centralia. She was married to Leslie G. Palmer on March 26, 1946. She worked and lived in Centralia most of her adult life, first as a legal secretary, as well as for Boeing, Office of Price Administration, and as a teacher's aide. She and Les owned Palmer's Jewelry on North Tower for nearly twenty years. Juanita enjoyed anything having to do with "the woods" and the outdoors, taking trips to Alaska and to the coast in their motor home, and watching her favorite sports teams. She enjoyed time with their friends camping, hunting, and playing cards. Juanita loved and was very involved with her family, from her parents, brothers and sister, to her children and grandchildren. She never complained about anything. Preceded in death by her parents; husbands Donald Blankenship and Les Palmer, brothers Vern and Ted Perkins, and sister Bea Dunn. Survived by her daughter Dolores ("Dede" and Bob) Hurford of Newberg, OR; her son Cal (and Irene) Palmer of Orting, WA; her aunt Berlin (and Wallace) Osborne of Mossyrock, WA; her grandchildren Terry Watson, Tony Watson, Tami Rettke, Michael Palmer and Justin Palmer; and seven great grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held at 1 pm, Monday, January 10, 2005 at Swofford Cemetery. Pastor Joe Mays officiating. A re-ception will follow at the Mossyrock Community Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Assoc-iation or to a charity of choice. Arrangements under the direction of Brown Mortuary.
