June 3, 1924, the eldest of five sons born to Arno and Clara Friedlein Morarend. His younger brothers are Veryl, Leonard, Delois, and William. He received his education at Jefferson No. 9 where he completed the eighth grade. Lyle worked on the family farm until 1945 when he joined the U.S. Army. He served in the army from 1945-47, stationed in Germany, France, and Austria, as well as various posts in the U.S. Lyle has held various jobs since, including 18 years working with Wright Tree Service and his present job as truck driver for Meuser Lumber Co. in Guttenberg. July 2, 1966, he was married at the Methodist Church in Savanna, Ill., to Juanita Jean Cheeseman Frederick. Juanita was born Jan. 24, 1927, at Sterling, Ill., to Rowland and Isabele Cheeseman. She has two brothers, Roger and Marvin. Juanita graduated from the Milledgeville, Ill., high school. She has two children from a previous marriage -- a son, Jerry Lee Frederick, who now lives in Kingston, Ill., is married and has one son, Travis; and a daughter, Sheryl Jean, who is married to David Bahls and lives in Guttenberg. Lyle and Juanita belong to St. John's Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. Juanita does excellent needlework of various kinds and both enjoy spending much of their leisure time hunting, fishing, and camping.
