Description	:	1.) OBITUARY. Juanita Merle, daughter of Elder J. W. Wight and wife, was born in Lamoni, Iowa, May 3, 1896; and departed to her innocent rest February 6, 1900, being at the time of her departure, 3 years, 9 months, and 3 days old. Wight and wife, was born in Lamoni, Iowa, May 3, 1896; and departed to her innocent rest February 6, 1900, being at the time of her departure, 3 years, 9 months, and 3 days old. She had been afflicted for some time, and on the Sunday before her departure she grew much worse. On Monday morning Elder Wight was wired to come home at once. He took the first train, but did not arrive until the day after the little one had ceased to be a member of the throng on this side the river. The funeral was from the home on Thursday, February 8, Elder R. S. Salyards offering prayer and pronouncing the benediction, and Elder J. R. Lambert making the brief address. Juanita, whose remains rest in Rose Hill by the side of those of her little sister Muriel May who departed something like a year ago, was an unusually bright, promising, and affectionate child, the joy and comfort of her mother at home, and one of the joys and comforting remembrances of her father away in his arduous labors. A short time before leaving she said to her mother without suggestion leading to it, "I am going to Muriel May," and a few minutes before the final end, she waved her little hand and said, "Good by, mamma, good by." Wight, Juanita, died Tuesday night about 10 o'clock. This was their only girl and will be a hard blow to the parents. Mrs. Wight is alone in her affliction, Elder Wight being in Utah engaged in his missionary work, and up to this writing they have been unable to reach him by wire. The little sufferer was about 2 years old. Later, Elder Wight arrived Wednesday afternoon. Wight and wife, died Tuesday night a little after eight o'clock. Elder Wight, though wired for Monday morning had not reached home. --Elder J. W. Wight came in from Salt Lake City, Utah, yesterday, called by telegram on account of the sickness and death of his child.
