Description	:	Death Judge Caldwell - We are pained to announce the death of the Hon. David F. Caldwell. He died in this place [Salisbury, Rowan Co., NC] yesterday, at 2 1/4 o'clock, P.M. After months of very feeble health, he was stricken down, on Tuesday morning last by paralysis, and lingered until yesterday, when death closed the scene of his earthly existence. We are requested to state that the mortal remains of the deceased will be removed, this morning at 8 o'clock, to St. Luke's church, where they may be visited by his friends until 4 o'clock, P.M.... Judge Caldwell married twice: (1) "Fanny Alexander, d/o William Lee Alexander ad niece of Hon. Archibald Henderson. Their children were: William Lee, Archibald Henderson, Elizabeth Ruth (marr. Col. Charles Fisher), Richard Alexander, Dr. Julius Alexander Caldwell, and Fanny McCoy Caldwell (marr Peter Hairston)." (2) "Rebecca M. NESBIT Troy(1) Caldwell (widow of Matthew Troy, Esq.; half-sister to Maxwell Chambers, Esq.) Her remains are interred beneath the Presbyterian lecture room near to Mr. Chambers' grave. " . . . Judge Caldwell died in 1867, at the age of seventy-seven, and "... his remains, unmarked by a monument are lying beside the resting place of his first wife, near the monument of the Hon.
