Description	:	ROUNDUP - Fred V. Watts, 81, died Tuesday night from an apparent heart attack. He was born Jan. 23, 1889, at Butler, Iowa, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Watts. He graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1908 and homesteaded on Indian Creek south of Melstone in 1910. On June 28, 1910, he married Sara Tregloan and they moved into Melstone in 1917 where he practiced law. They moved to Roundup in 1928. Watts, 81, died Tuesday night from an apparent heart attack. He was born Jan. 23, 1889, at Butler, Iowa, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Watts. He graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1908 and homesteaded on Indian Creek south of Melstone in 1910. On June 28, 1910, he married Sara Tregloan and they moved into Melstone in 1917 where he practiced law. They moved to Roundup in 1928. He was a former judge of the 14th judicial district for 16 years and in 1967 was honored by the Montana Bar Association for his 50 years of practice in Montana. He had served one year in the Montana House of Representatives and was a member of the Congregational Church, past master and 50-year member of Crescent Lodge 117, AF&AM in Melstone, past patron and 50-year member of Garland Chapter 90, OES in Melstone, a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 1098 and Knights of Pythias. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Eldred, Bozeman, and Meredith, Fullerton, Calif.; four brothers, Harry A., Hedrick, Iowa, Lloyd H., Odebolt, Iowa, Lynn J., Fremont, Iowa, and Lee R., Corning, Iowa; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Roberts Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Horst officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Billings with Melstone Crescent Lodge 117, AF&AM, in charge of graveside rites.
