Description	:	Returning to the Grand Valley after 20 years absence, Judge James Edward Devy, aged 65 years old. Died at his ranch near Fruita yesterday morning of cerebral hemorrhage brought on by an attack of paralysis. Read More	Returning to the Grand Valley after 20 years absence, Judge James Edward Devy, aged 65 years old. Died at his ranch near Fruita yesterday morning of cerebral hemorrhage brought on by an attack of paralysis. Judge Devy, who has been a resident of Colorado for 23 years was in this section of the state in the early nineties and purchased a 180 acre tract near Loma which he owned at the time of his death. He lived for eight years in Aspen, later went to Victor, where he made his home for 13 years and finally came back to his old Grand Valley home three months ago in hopes that he failing health might be benefited. He suffered for years of a brain trouble as well as an aggravated kidney malady and the disease had progressed so far that no climatic benefit could save his life. For the past week his vitality had been low ebb and his wife, son, and daughter who watched at his bedside knew that his end was near. Yesterday morning at 8 o'clock he passed into a peaceful slumber form which he never awakened. In Victor he followed his occupation of contractor and building and prospered greatly. He built the Teller county court house at Cripple Creek as well as many other well known structures in that vicinity. He was prominent in democratic politics and for two terms was county judge of his home town. At present his son is constructing a number of hotels, bank buildings, etc., at towns on the Moffat road which the old gentleman so contracted for before his health barred him from active work. The funeral services have not been arranged for, pending the arrival of relatives form the East, but will be held form the funeral parlors of Yunker and Callahan on Main street where the remains may be viewed by his friends. He was a member of the Aspen Camp POE Local Elks will have charge of his funeral services. He has several old time friends in this section who will bear of his demise with deep regret.
