James (Macky) Brower, 23; his wife, Judith, 19; and their 9 month-old son, Michael were killed in the accident in heavy fog that also took the lives of another young couple and their son. The browers, were en route to Calif. to seek a new home. Mr and Mrs. Arlo Waggoner, jr. and their son Tommy, 18 months-old, were with them and also died in the crash, Waggoner, who had gone to San Deigo four years ago, was a cousin of Mrs. Brower. Services here will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Hamilton's Funeral home for Brower family, who formerly lived at 2128 S.E. Six st. The Tuesday services will be at 1:30 p.m. at the FourSquare Church in Chartion. Burial will be at Arnold Cemetery, near Lacona. James Brower was born in Iowa City, his wife and son in Des Moines. He had worked as a laborer at Keefner Sand & Gravel Co. He was a member of Local 234, International Union of Operating Engeneers. Hosting and Portable. Obituary of James (Mac) Howard Brower: James Howard Brower, eldest son of Howard and Edna Lois Brower, was born January 31, 1936, at Iowa City. His young life was ended Tuesday morning, Nov. 3, 1959, when his car collided head-on with a truck in California. The crash also took the life of his wife Judith Ann Bennett, whom he married Feb. 3, 1958, in Des Moines: and their only child, nine-month -old Michael Howard. He was preceded in death by his father in 1947 and infant sister Betty in 1933. He leaves to mourn his tragic death his mother, brother Jackie Lee and step-brother, Ronald Kelley, all of Des Moines and host of other relatives and friends. His early years were spent in Lucas County. The last four years he had resided in Des Moines. Mac, as he was known to his many friends, accepted Christ as his savior in the Chariton Foursquare Church in 1951. He was a devoted husband and father, always seeking the welfare of his loved ones and will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Mac, his loving wife and darling baby were laid to rest in the Arnold Cemetery near Lacoma.
