Read More	Burlington/NORTHFIELD - Judith Ann Kingsley Trower, 69, of 230 St. Paul St. in Burlington and formerly of Northfield, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. Judith was born April 16, 1941, in Summit, N.J., the daughter of Robert Cummings and Maridean Davis Kingsley Lewis. At an early age her family moved to Carlisle, Pa., where Judith received her elementary education and graduated from Carlisle High School, class of 1961. She spent one year at Slippery Rock College in Slippery Rock, Pa., and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and Fort Riley, Kan., in the medical corps during the Vietnam era. She married Ronald "Rod" Trower and moved back to Carlisle, Pa., after her military service. Her marriage ended in divorce and she moved to Northfield in 1967. Judith attended the Thompson School of Practical Nursing in Brattleboro and became a licensed practical nurse. Judith had an extensive career in the medical field, having been employed at the former Mayo Hospital and the Mayo Nursing Home, both in Northfield, Gifford Hospital in Randolph, Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin and Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury. She received emergency medical technician training in 1974 and became a member of the Northfield Ambulance Service when it first organized. In 1998, she moved to Burlington and furthered her medical career by receiving her master's degree in community mental health from the former Trinity College, graduating in 2001, with the last graduating class from Trinity. She was employed in Burlington for the AmeriCorps program at the Lund Family Center and worked in the home health care field there. Her memberships include the PNAV, Tres Dia Community and Ascension Lutheran Church in Burlington. Judith is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Trower, of Northfield; two brothers, Frederick Lamson Kingsley, of Roxbury, and Albert Lee Lewis, of Berlin; three granddaughters, Samantha Herring, Naomi Herring and Renee Herring, all of Northfield; nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Robert Cummings Kingsley, and her mother, Maridean Davis Kingsley Lewis. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, March 6, at 4 p.m. at the Ascension Lutheran Church, 95 Allen Road in South Burlington, with a potluck dinner to follow. Later interment will take place in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph. Kingston Funeral Home in Northfield is assisting with the local arrangements.
