Judy was born June 4, 1926 in Cummings, Kansas and was raised on the family farm until moving to Burbank, California in 1948. she moved from Burbank to Santa Maria in 1997 and enjoyed her life and friends at Casa Grande. Judy was a devoted member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Judy married Alfred Thorp in 1965 and became a loving stepmother to Betty Jo and John. Judy spent most of her life working as a beautician in Burbank. Judy will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. Judy is survived by her children, Betty Jo Nash of Ventura, John Steward Thorp of Long Beach,California; grandchildren Ryan, Jonathan and Kelly Nash, great grandchildren, Caelan Nash, Presley Nash and Violet Also; siblings, Maxine Skidmore of Atchison, Kansas; Balie Lewman of Parma, Idaho; Gilbert Lewman of Lodi, California; Bonnie Willis of Santa Maria, California; John Lewman of Marietta Georgia; and Alice Mosher of Santa Maria, California. Judy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Thursday March 9, 2006 at 2:00 pm in Bethel Lutheran Church, 624 Camino Colegio, Santa Maria with Pastor Carl Nielsen officiating. Memorial contributions in Judy's memory may be made to Marian Home care Hospice,1400 East Church St. Santa Maria, California 93454. "Dearest Judy, you will be dearly missed and remembered."
