His death occurred at Grand Island, Nebraska on May 9, 1911 at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 9 days. He spent his early life in the vicinity of his birth and received his education in the public schools in the Carleton area, where he graduated from the Carleton High School with the class of 1933. He was the son of Ernest and Daisy Bell Brown Griffith. His death occurred at Grand Island, Nebraska on May 9, 1911 at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 9 days. He spent his early life in the vicinity of his birth and received his education in the public schools in the Carleton area, where he graduated from the Carleton High School with the class of 1933. He was engaged in farming most of his lifetime. He enjoyed the outdoors and his gardening and his family. In 1935 he moved to Hamilton County where he farmed until his retirement. On August 2, 1941 he was united in marriage to Anita Ackerman Rhoads. They farmed in Monroe precinct until 1978 when they retired from active farming, but continued to reside on the farm. He was a member of the Monroe Evangelical Free Church. His parents and one sister, Mrs. Mabel Rachow had preceded him in death. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Anita; three sons, Gerald Rhoads of St. Paul, Nebraska, Delmer Griffith of Beatrice, Nebraska and Arnold Griffith of Lincoln, Nebraska; three daughters, Mrs. Donita Friesen of Aurora, Mrs. Judith Haag of Norwood, Minnesota and Mrs. Kathleen Newberg of Lincoln, Nebraska; three brothers, Andrew Griffith of Aurora, Eldo and Daniel Griffith both of Carleton, Nebraska; 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and other relatives and many close friends.
