Buried at Highland Cemetery, Winnesheik County, Iowa on June 21, 1918 with Rev T. O. Tolo officiating. Headstone for Juel Tokerud (Gamkinn) Christopherson. Oline is listed here too, but she was buried in a small cemetery on private property down the road from Waterloo Ridge Lutheran Church, which is several miles from Highland Lutheran Church. He lived on his farm until a couple of years before his death. His brother, Anders Framstad Bakken Tokerud, died in Norway over 40 years ago, and another brother died later in Norway. His name was Lars Christopherson Tokerud. His widow, Laura, is presumably dead by now. A sister, Anne, was married. Her husband, Johannes, is living. They had four children, but all are dead but the oldest, Kristian, who has the old family place. I heard from some relatives he is properous and has taken prizes or honorable mention for his improvement on his mother's old homestaed. Also my father's and brother's and sister's birthplace, which I too, am proud of. The other three children were Karoline, Gubjor, and Julius. Julius was in this country, came to Milbank, South Dakota, where he was employed and also at Montevideo, Minnesota, where he worked as a plumber. I used to correspond with him as Dad liked to hear from him. We sent him an invitation to my wedding. He did not come, but we heard from relatives in Norway the next year that he had died from pneumonia in 1910 or so.
