She was the daughter of James and Jane Thompson, pioneers of that vicinity. She was married to Thomas J. Baker of Oto, Iowa, January 9, 1883, coming at once to the farm home at Oto. She was the daughter of James and Jane Thompson, pioneers of that vicinity. She was married to Thomas J. Baker of Oto, Iowa, January 9, 1883, coming at once to the farm home at Oto. To Mr. and Mrs. Baker were born three children, two sons and one daughter. The sons, James and Robert preceding their mother to the better land. Those left to mourn their loss are the husband, the daughter, Mrs. J.R. Carter, a niece, Mrs. B.F. Long, who was reared in their home and who received and gave a daughter's love and service, and an only sister, Miss Mary Thompson of Wilcox, Arizona. Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Baker resided on their farm near Oto, Iowa, until 1909 when they moved to California, spending a year on the coast and later locating in Arizona. She was a model homemaker. As a wife and helpmate she was indeed all that the words imply. Love, patience and kindness were a part of her nature. Mrs. Baker united with the Methodist Episcopal church when a young girl and ever remained an earnest, consecrated Christian, living her religion in a way that made her life beautiful in its consistency and an example of faith and trust.
