Description	:	Julia Finley was born on December 18, 1909 , in Brookings County, South Dakota, the daughter of Julius and Anna (Peterson) Dahl. She died on Thursday, March 1, 2007, at the United Retirement Center in Brookings at the age of 97. Julia attended Sinai High School and Eastern State Normal School in Madison, SD. She was united in marriage to Kermit Christopherson on February 24, 1934. Julia was employed as a school teacher, and taught rural school in Brookings County for many years. She was also employed at First National Bank in Brookings. Kermit died on August 12, 1963. On October 9, 1969, she married Moody Robert Finley. Moody died on August 12, 1987, in Brookings, SD. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Brookings, Lutheran Ladies Aid, Sioux Valley Extension Club, Sons of Norway, Retired Teachers and Genealogy. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, painting, restoring old furniture, bowling and walking. Julia wrote her life story entitled Saturdays Child. Julia is survived by two daughters Darleen Ploeger (Donald) of Las Vegas, NV, Mary Ann Boddicker (Daryl) of Libertyville, IL, one step-daughter Patricia Beattie of Brookings, SD; seven grandchildren Terry, Traci, Tim, Troy, Darin, Jay and Jill; two step-grandchildren Jim and Scott; 16 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and one sister Doris (Rueben) Skordahl of Brookings, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one step-son Tom Finley, three brothers Clifford, Jasper, Wesley and three sisters Sadie, Hazel and Julia (Infant).
