Mrs. Julia Grace "Babe" Shaff Culler, 94, entered God's arms on June 13, 2016. She was the loving wife of Roland Kurtz Culler who died June 23, 1991."Babe" was born March 4, 1922, the fifth child of James Victor and Pheobe Stockman Shaff. Always laughing, always charitable, always willing to listen and always knowing the right thing to say. Babe loved and valued her God, her family, her friends, and her wonderful life. She was truly interested in everyone and everything. She loved to sing and she read voraciously. She faithfully kept a diary from the time she was a young girl.She was a lifetime member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Feagaville, where she was a long-standing member of the choir, primary superintendent, member of WELCA, altar guild, THEOS, and a Sunday school teacher. She graduated from Frederick High School, Class of 1940, and attended Miss Willard's School of Business. She was employed by the Union Manufacturing Co. until her marriage in 1942. At the side of her husband, she assisted in the operation of their dairy farm until his death. She is survived by her six children: Julia Jeanne Biser and husband, Richard; Joann Marie Passaglia; Nancy Ellen Kegley and husband, John; Richard Roland Culler; David Robert Culler and wife, Susan; and Jennifer Mae Noffsinger and husband James.Also surviving are grandchildren: Julia Kegley Jones; Susan Biser Hackney and husband, Jim; Matthew Culler and wife Michelle; Andrew Culler; Sgt. Justin Noffsinger and wife, Kylee; Jacob Noffsinger and fiance, Chelsea; Julia Maegan Noffsinger; and Joshua Noffsinger. In addition she is survived by great grandsons, Brandon, John Tyler, and Alexander Jones, and Alex Hackney; great granddaughter, Erin Julia Hackney. She is also survived by a brother, Bernard Shaff and wife, Dorothy; sister-in-law Belva Fry; brother-in-law Bernard Culler and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, sisters: Hilda Smith and Clara Pletsch; brothers: James and Robert Shaff and son-in-law, Dennis Passaglia. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Frederick Memorial Hospital and Hospice of Frederick County for their loving care of our mother.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at St. Luke's Church on Jefferson Pike (Rt. 180) Feagaville. Friends will be received and hour prior to the service.
